The Sweetest Occasion (An Inspiration Shoot)

Good morning, friends! I hope you had a great long holiday weekend and a big congratulations to all of you celebrating holiday engagements. I’m looking forward to a fabulous new year filled with happy celebrations so let’s jump right into the pretty, shall we? A few weeks ago I shared that The Sweetest Occasion had been featured in Nonpareil Magazine, providing the inspiration for an incredible editorial shoot created by a super talented team comprised of Rebecca Ashby of The Pink Orange, Alisha Clark of Clark + Walker Studio, Kris Ann Elario of Fleurtacious Designs and Katie O’Malley of Katie O Weddings and Events. Today I’m happy to share the shoot with you!

In envisioning the shoot, I provided the team with an inspiration board and a few ideas of how I would recreate my wedding were I to plan it all over again. They then took that and ran with it, with truly lovely results. For me the vision that kept coming to mind was of an incredibly elegant and romantic yet casual celebration. The setting would be outside overlooking a lake with an al fresco reception with big stacks of blankets and quilts so guests could lounge. The color palette would be shades of white, ivory, cream, champagne and soft dove gray and all of the details would be romantic – think lace, ruffles and candlelight, fluffy white flowers, and simple sophistication. In turn, the team put their design talents to work and shot on location at The Mansion in Saratoga Springs, New York. I just love what they came up with!
