Inspired Creations – Home Decor Inspired Wedding

Today’s Inspired Creations Contest entry from A Touch of Bliss, Bella Fiori, Makeup by Janine and Revert Photo is all about finding inspiration in the things you love, specifically the objects already around your own home. I love this idea! It’s all about a chic practicability that sacrifices no style, infusing your celebration with sweet personal details that are a reflection of the things you love most, easily gathered from home or the homes of loved ones. Chic and budget-friendly, you can’t beat that.

THIS is what we want our wedding to look and feel like.” In fact, some couples waver back and forth for months trying to decide between modern and chic or cozy and eclectic. In such a situation, it is best to really look at who you two are as a couple, what your styles are, and what you enjoy. What better place to find all these things than in the place you spend most of your time? Yup, your home and its décor is one of the best places to find wedding inspiration that will be true to you and your style. Take a look around your home and be amazed at the inspiration that will come together as easily as that gorgeous end table and rug you matched together in your living room last month.”

coffee-bean-wedding-decor-diy-place-cardsWhen designing the elements for this shoot, the team found inspiration in a couple with a clean, sleek style and a fabulous collection of Jonathan Adler vases.  From there they created an inspiration board and got to work trasnalting the aesethetic into a fun, natural color palette with hints of deep woods and natural elements. “A tablescape using natural elements of lush greenery and rich coffee beans contrasted nicely with stark white dishware and brightly colored fabrics. Textures varied from roughly constructed placemats of dried reeds to the smooth and satiny surfaces of a Jonathan Adler vase. The natural yet vibrant inspiration was even carried over to the bride’s attire. Her white linen dress with asymmetrical ruffle brought in unique textures not often found in the bridal world. Her capiz shell necklace made a delicate statement and gave gentle reminder of the couple’s love for nature.”

diy-place-cards-wedding-reception-ideas“An impressive collection of coffee mugs, a beautiful French press and a coffee maker out of the next millennium led us to discover that this couple cherished the colors, the smells, the richness and the ceremony of cozying up with a delicious cup of their favorite caffeinated beverage. That in turn, helped us develop a fun and easy DIY project that brought in this little piece of the couple’s lives in the form of coffee stained escort cards. The whimsical nature of using the bottom of the coffee mug to stain unique rings in richly textured paper and writing guests names inside brought a playful element to their table setting while also incorporating something unique to the couple.”

“Home décor is a wonderful source of inspiration – even if your home isn’t decorated in the exact way you want it yet, you still most likely have a style and feeling that you love. Find elements of this style in home magazines and blogs. It will lend a fresh, unique feel to your wedding and help you to finally put that stake in the ground and really start designing your wedding in a way that is completely you. After all, home is where the heart is.”

Stay tuned later for a great DIY project and more ideas for taking inspiration from your home and translating it into a unique personal wedding style!
