Inspired Creations – Hot Air Balloon Inspired Wedding Celebration

Good morning, friends! My apologies for the unexpected absence yesterday – my schedule has been a bit crazy lately, but I’m back today with another beautiful entry for the Inspired Creations Contest. Today’s submission comes from Ashley Dicksa of Creative Events by Ashley and Lilia Ahner of Lilia Photography. Together they envisioned an intimate outdoor wedding celebration filled with unique details and whimsical touches. Inspired by vintage photographs of hot air balloons and working with a soft romantic color palette of pale pink, baby blue and moss green, they created a unique vision for a pretty outdoor wedding that I think would also make a great party or bridal shower.

They were perfect for the place settings and fairly easy to put together. I used pink paper I had in my office and my Cricut to cut the names out. I used a non toxic spay glue to glue the names on to the succulent. I then glued the succulent and some moss to a small piece of cardboard. At the end of the evening the guests can take their place setting home with them and plant them.”

golden-gate-park-san-francisco-wedding-ideas“For the balloons, I wired two halve baskets together with floral wire, wrapped some fabric over the sphere shape and then tied it with fishing wire. The bottom basket was a wire basket – I used spray glue to attach the moss and then took wire to attach to the balloon shape to each side of the basket. I put floral foam in the basket and placed the hydrangeas accordingly. The balloon was held from the tree with fishing line. Ribbon was wrapped around the wire that attached the balloon.”

unique-wedding-flower-arrangements-hot-air-balloonsI love these sweet little hot air balloons and think a silk floral version would be really cute as a mobile of sorts in a nursery or perfect for a little girl’s birthday party. The possibilities are endless! I am always amazed at the things you can do armed with a bit of ingenuity, a vision and glue. Thank you so much, Ashley and Lilia, for being a part of the Inspired Creations Contest! These ladies braved a torrential downpour and nearly called off their shoot, which took place at Golden Gate Park, but finally the sun came out and the shoot went on. We’re so glad it did!
