One of the coolest things for me as a blogger is getting to connect with people all over the world! Take today’s beautiful feature which comes to us all the way from Slovakia where photographers Peter & Veronika teamed up with food blogger Martina Bezakova of Dulce de Leche for a gorgeous shoot captured in her lovely kitchen. Guest starring Martina’s husband, who is her right hand man in the kitchen, and their adorable pooch, there’s no shortage of lovely photos here. Many thanks to Peter and Veronika for sharing!

The last few weeks have been full of excitement around here as we’ve been working on getting settled in and organized. While we moved about a month ago now, it was just last weekend that we got the rest of our belongings out of storage and it went from feeling pretty relaxed and peaceful around here to having boxes stacked everywhere again. So it’s been feeling like a bit of a madhouse, to say the least. Add in a house full of boys for spring break last week and, frankly, it has been several days of laughter, board games, cooking big dinners and working on sorting through all of those aforementioned boxes. So I thought I’d share a little glimpse at what’s been going on around here lately!
1: | We made huge progress on the boys’ room! Their new beds arrived and I’m loving their new striped bedding from Pottery Barn Kids. So far it’s coming together as I had imagined!
2: | Last Monday was my 30th birthday and B surprised me by sending a big bouquet of Irises, which are one of my all-time favorite flowers! A week later they’re still boasting their gorgeous color and making me smile every time I see them.
3: | I hung up this art above the stove. It was a college graduation gift back in the day from a very dear friend. It’s a hand paper cutting in a custom frame that I just love.
4: | I have been eyeing this shower curtain from West Elm for so long and I love how it looks in our new bathroom. The art features two sepia photos of sailboats that I picked up a few years ago.
5: | Our new rug arrived last week! I agonized over this decision because a huge rug like this (8×10) really sets the tone for a space. B and I ultimately made the decision together and we both love it. The coffee table is mid-century vintage, scored a few years ago on Craigslist.
6: | I’m still working on new pieces for the bedroom but I played around with bedding last week. The pintuck duvet cover is an oldie but goodie and I love it in the space. Next up we need new lamps, side tables and curtains. A never ending list!

Good Monday morning, friends! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was a total, awesome whirlwind. And now it’s Monday and I’m honestly feeling kind of groggy following a few days in a row of being surrounded by all my favorite people. So, as I always think fitting, I’m all about starting the week with a pretty little color palette. I need a little burst of sunshine today, because once again the skies here are gray today. Pairing pretty shades of pink and soft buttercup yellow, this color palette is just the ticket for a gray Monday morning. Here’s wishing you all a fabulous week!

No doubt, spring has been on my mind basically nonstop lately. It’s probably because it’s still feeling quite cold here in upstate New York. I swear they keep saying it’s spring, but I’m not feeling it yet. So naturally, all I want to do is surround myself with soft spring colors and think about planting a garden. From pretty accessories to lovely pastel garden essentials, I am loving all things spring. In particular, this scarf and this garden hose. Because clearly we all need a pretty blue garden hose in our life. Obviously.
