Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so let’s talk crafts, shall we? I know I’ve lamented before about really not being a huge fan of the commercialized version of Valentine’s Day. Overpriced red roses and big boxes of chocolate? Completed overrated if you ask me. That said, I love the sentiment of Valentine’s Day and taking a day to show a little love and appreciation for the people you love most in your life. So handmade gestures of the …

I thought I would take a quick moment today to share with you a few Christmas snippets, Instagram style of course. My holidays involved lots of time with family and loved ones, more than my fair share of Tom and Jerrys, and lots and lots of snow. Add in copious amounts of coffee, mountains of presents to wrap, baking cookies, prepping photo shoots and spying on Christmas lights through the neighborhood and December turned out to be a pretty amazing …

I have this thing about decorating for the holidays. I feel like as much as you can muster should be handmade or old. I have no idea why I hold this conviction so firmly, but I am guessing it has to do with spending hours making ornaments with my mom or delighting year after year over the same old ornaments on my grandmother’s tiny tabletop tree. Whatever the case may be, I need you to know that I’m hopelessly in …

Loving Advent Calendars

Loving Advent Calendars

As a kid, the countdown to Christmas was a big big deal in our house. Us kids squabbled over who got to move Santa in our countdown calendar every morning and would race to be the first one up for breakfast in order to be the winner. Our Advent calendar was also a big deal every year. Just that building of excitement and sheer little kid joy. Maybe that’s why this time of year is still one that just fills …

Holiday Baking Essentials

Now that November is officially upon us, this is the time of year that my KitchenAid stand mixer starts getting a serious workout. In short, I love baking. Over the years I’ve amassed a pretty serious collection of various baking dishes, pans and gadgets. A few that I can’t live without heading into the holiday baking season? Great measuring spoons and cups, a trusty pie bird, an arsenal of whisks and rubber spatulas and stacks of nested mixing bowls. For …

DIY Love Eggs

DIY Love Eggs

by Chelsea Costa

Are you dying eggs this Easter? I haven’t dyed eggs in years, but this year something about it was calling my name! Here’s a quick, easy DIY you can do with your little ones (or other big ones!) to tell the world just how much you love Easter.

Supplies -

eggs
egg dying kit (I used a Paas standard 6-color kit)
white vinegar
masking tape
scissors
optional: muffin tin

Start by hard-boiling your eggs if you wish. Let them cool and prepare your dyes. If you’re …
