A Few Universal Truths About Moving
Hi, guys! I’m just checking in quick today to share a few universal truths about moving. Somehow, they’re easily forgotten even if, like me, you’ve moved 11 times in six years. (Yes. You read that correctly.) So here are the three universal truths of moving, according to yours truly.

No matter how organized and prepared you are, you are neither organized nor prepared.
You always own way more stuff than you think. Regardless of how much …

A Little About Cyd
Looking back on 2012 and thinking about 2013 stretching before us, one of the things I’ve really missed in recent months is sharing a little bit more about the girl behind this here blog. (Uh, that’d be me.) I founded The Sweetest Occasion back in 2008 and since then, life has changed so much. For one, running the blog has now been my full-time gig for over 18 months. Sometimes it honestly still makes me shake my head in amazement. …

You can check out full details over at City Cradle Design where myself and four other bloggers were challenged to create a fall harvest design to inspire all of your fall parties and weddings. Hello from the New York International Gift Fair!
Hello, everyone! My apologies for being absent unexpectedly today – I am in New York City for the New York International Fair for Smock and spotty internet at the hotel made blogging earlier in the day impossible. Posts may be a little light this week, but I have the most beautiful baby shower to share with you tomorrow morning so be sure to pop by and check it out – it’s absolutely gorgeous inspiration for any wedding or party you …

Birthday Girl Guest Post
Good morning, everyone! Popping in quickly today to thank you all for your support and love. It means so very very much. Things here are slowly looking up, although I’m not feeling completely ready to jump back into the blogging routine just yet, but I might pop up later in the week with a bit of inspiration I can’t resist sharing. In the meantime, I thought I’d share a recent guest post I wrote for Birthday Girl featuring my favorite …

The B-List Meet + Greet
Earlier in the week I gave you a little sneak peek at my trip to DC and Alexandria for The B-List last weekend, but I wanted to take a moment to tell you about the amazing meet and greet party on Friday night. Seriously, this party was so much fun – the team at Ritzy Bee Events pulled out all of the stops to bring out DC’s finest to wine and dine the assembled bloggers and a group of over …

The B-List
Good morning, everyone! I’m back after a whirlwind trip to DC and beautiful Old Town Alexandria this weekend for The B-List conference and have so much to share. I’m sure all of us bloggers will be buzzing about our fun-filled weekend throughout the week, but I wanted to take a quick second to share a little sneak peek at the festivities and to thank the amazing people who made everything possible. First and foremost, a huge thank you to Anne …

Blog It Forward – What Inspires Me
Since throwing my name in the ring to be a part of the first ever Blog It Forward, I’ve loved reading all about what inspires some of my favorite bloggers. Today is my turn. (I’m taking over for The Sweatshop of Love who shared yesterday and on Monday the party continues over at The Vintage Laundress.) In many ways, I suppose the timing is perfect as this week and last have been particularly difficult for many of my loved ones …

NYC Adventures – The Weekend In Review
Good morning, everyone! To kick off the week I wanted to share a quick recap of my long weekend in New York City and a few highlights of our whirlwind trip. We had a 6AM flight on Thursday morning, which required setting my alarm for 3:30. I believe this redefines an “early start” to the day. By 9:00 we had landed, gotten into Manhattan and checked into our hotel before heading off to breakfast with event planner Lisa Green of …
