A Pie-Loving Pink First Birthday Party

A Pie-Loving Pink First Birthday Party

When I spied Emerson’s first birthday party on EAD Living, I fell in love. It’s sweet and pink and loaded with fun little homemade pies and a pretty birthday cake that looks almost too good to eat. I love birthday parties that skip the cartoon characters in lieu of something a bit more homespun and the cute little details here are simply adorable. It’s as easy as a string of bunting, loads of yummy treats and a few color-coordinated pieces …

Sweet Finds: The Small Object

Sweet Finds: The Small Object

In the midst of a month that has been unusually stressful on my end, these little cupcake toppers are just plain, old-fashioned happy. I love the idea of using one of these on your little one’s birthday cake year after year as a fun family tradition. There’s something so quirky and cute about these little faces, it’s impossible not to smile as soon as you see them. Get yours from The Small Object.

40 Oz of Funk: A 40th Birthday Party

40 Oz of Funk: A 40th Birthday Party

I’ve been getting a lot of requests for great adult party ideas, so I’m really excited to share Zach’s birthday party with you! Zach’s wife is Amy Graham Stigler, creative director and designer of Smock, and she recently planned an incredible surprise party to celebrate Zach’s 40th birthday. Zach loves old school rap so a recurring theme throughout the party was 40 oz of Funk complete with 40 oz beers. A mix cd of his favorite old …

An Outer Space Birthday Party

An Outer Space Birthday Party

Happy Monday, friends! I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was a combination of both really busy on Saturday and really lazy on Sunday. Just how I like it! I thought I’d start the week with this fabulous birthday party that the amazing Kate of Beautiful Days planned for her son Wyatt. To say that Wyatt turned four in fine fashion would be an understatement! Kate made all  of the favors and decor and set up a coloring station …

A Peanuts Birthday Party

A Peanuts Birthday Party

Italian event planner Alessandra of Almalu’s Place shared the sweetest Peanuts-themed birthday party that she recently planned for her sister. Fabiola loves the Peanuts so Alessandra was inspired to create a party influenced by Fabiola’s love for Charlie Brown and the gang. (So cute!) She worked Daily Suze to create the stationery and paper goods, using a black and white palette with a few touches of color to resemble comic strips. She created a buffet with a lot of salty …

Good morning, friends! I hope everyone had a great weekend. This morning I’ve got the cutest little inspiration shoot to share with you, created by the lovely Becca of Birthday Girl and featuring sweet treats from Cakewalk Baking. Becca used ribbons in varying widths and textures to create easy, budget-friendly party decor – I love the ribbon wands and the cute cupcake and cake flags! And, of course, you can really never go wrong with delicious chocolate cupcakes.

A Picnic Inspired First Birthday Party

A Picnic Inspired First Birthday Party

This colorful first birthday party was inspired by sunny spring picnics. Never mind that little Addie’s birthday falls in the cold of winter, mom Miranda spread blankets on the floor and served sandwiches, lemonade, cobbler in jars and chocolate cake. DIY party decorations crafted from colorful papers, paper doilies and cupcake liners gave the party a little handmade cheer and kept things budget-friendly. The fabric bunting adorned invitations might be my favorite part!

Thank you so much for sharing, Miranda!

A 60th Birthday Party Bash

I am pretty jazzed to share this birthday party with you today. Planned by Eden of Sugar and Charm for her father in-law’s 60th birthday party, it’s proof that you can (and should) have fun at any age. Lots of yummy desserts, vintage sodas, good wine and a few DIY details made this party truly special.

Eden bought vases from a local dollar store, printed out black and white photos of her father in-law and taped them on the outside. …

A Breakfast Brunch First Birthday

A Breakfast Brunch First Birthday

Good morning and happy Monday to you! I have a lot of great inspiration up my sleeve this week so I’m going to jump right into the fun. Allow me to put it out there – I love this birthday party. I’ve already told you (a few times, I think) about my obsession with breakfast. I basically think breakfast is one of the greatest inventions ever. (Big points for whoever thought that one up.) This birthday party celebration was planned …

Birthday Party Inspiration Shoot

When talented children’s photographer Christy Rimrodt of Studio Christy shared this gorgeous birthday party inspiration shoot, I was pretty giddy. (Please note an abundance of cute toddler dimples and you’ll see what I mean.) Shot on location at a hazelnut orchard outside of Portland, Oregon and styled by Kimberly Brandt of Billede Design, I love the sweet and easy details. When planning a party for kids, you can’t go wrong with bright colors and yummy treats.

I am pretty sure you know this, but I love birthday parties. I mean, I big time love birthday parties. I just really can’t get enough of sweet celebrations to honor a loved one. When planning a birthday party, remember that the little details are often the ones that make the most impact.
