Color Palette: Bluestone + Sage

I’ve been working with my girl Erika (you guys have heard me mention her a zillion times) to start the daunting process of rebranding and redesigning The Sweetest Occasion. I mentioned that last week in my 50 Random Things About Me post, but it’s notable because it’s going to be the biggest overhaul I’ve taken on in the going on seven years since I founded this here blog. One of the things I’m pickiest about (and poor Erika, there are many) is the color palette, because we all know I’m a color fiend. Luckily, Erika knows exactly what I’m all about (we’ve logged a lot of hours all over the country in shared hotel rooms and curled up on couches drinking wine talking for hours) so I know I’m in good hands, but I’ve also been using Pinterest religiously to track my inspiration. Today’s post is directly inspired by some of that pinning action. Which is not to say the new branding will be anything like this when we’re all done, but I will say it helped me hone in on this perfect winter color palette. It’s soft, dimensional and cozy while still feeling bright and crisp. It feels sort of lovely and perfect on this -8° day, what do you think?

Love love love the colors, but also the imagery on these pics! What's the rough timeline of the rehaul? Excited to see the result! ;)

Thanks, Natalie! So we've been prepping for the rebrand (actively sourcing inspiration and keeping Pinterest boards, discussing the wants and needs, debating what's currently working and not working, etc.) for about six months. As of this month we've transitioned into starting to put all of that analysis and inspiration into some schematic design work. Taking into consideration both of our busy work schedules, the time it will take to develop and code the site, etc. my hope is that we'll be launching somewhere around my birthday, which is April 1. :-) By all means if you have any thoughts or input to share, please do! This rebrand is as much for you as it is for me. ;-)
