Summer Essentials: A Day At The Beach

It’s rainy here today. Unpleasantly so. But you know what? I’m not letting it get me down. Or at least, I’m trying not to. By rainy day dreaming about long lazy summer days at the beach, of course. Which naturally led me down a bunny trail of hunting down a few new summer essentials that I’d love to add to my closet this summer. A great bathing suit, the perfect canvas tote and a perfectly adorable cover up, for starters!

Summer Essentials: A Day At The Beach

Of course, no day at the beach is complete without the sunscreen (I prefer the spray-on mist variety), a big bottle of sparkling water (I like mine in a big Solo cup with loads of ice and lime!), and beach games. Paddle ball is a favorite but most often we end up playing Kan Jam. Do you know Kan Jam? It’s really big up here in our area, but I find not a lot of people outside of the Northeast seem to know what it is – it’s a whole lot of fun, that I can assure you. Basically you split into teams and take turns trying to throw a Frisbee into a can-shaped bucket, while alternately trying to keep the opposing team for landing their Frisbee in the target. Somehow it ends up being hotly contested and absolutely hilarious all at once. So there you have my summer essentials for a day at the beach! Now if only the sunshine would show up…

I absolutely love these cheery colors! This post makes me so happy that it's finally summer. Suddenly, finding a breezy cover up has become a priority for me, and spray-on mist sunscreen - why have I never thought of this?! I making the switch!

I love this round-up! It definitely gets me in the mood for summer! The only thing I think you are missing is a pestemal... What is a trip to the beach without a fabulous towel?!
