Caribbean Tropics Wedding Inspiration

Good morning and happy Friday, everyone! Today I am really excited to be sharing one of my personal favorite entries in our recent Inspired Creations Contest with you. (You may remember it from seeing it on Elizabeth Anne Designs.) Inspired by the tropical paintings and old floral still life imagery of Paul Gaugin, a post-Impressionist artist from the late 1800s, this dream team of Erica O’Brien, Honey and Poppies, De-Lovely Events and Jessica Claire incorporated vibrant tropical colors, lush florals and unique references to art and painting in their jaw-dropping creation.

Guests are invited to “paint” on their cakes using the colored icing and little paint brushes. Directions, printed on scrapbook paper and framed, read “You are the artist. (1) Choose your cake. (2) Choose your icing. (3) Create your design.” Of course, a stunning wedding cake in bright tropical colors also plays a starring role.

My favorite part of this gorgeous design is the stunning floral design. Boasting colorful peonies, dahlias, roses, sweet peas, ranunculus, and snowball viburnum, the floral arrangements were then layered with with vines of passion flower, clematis, and pepper berries, wispy curled ferns and peacock feathers. The result is nothing short of spectacular.
