It has been a really really long time since I last updated you on my weight and fitness goals and with under two months to go until the wedding, it seems like it’s time to get back on the wagon of regular updates. Overall, I’ve been doing fairly well the last couple of months. There have been a lot of occasions to get derailed – birthdays, bridal showers, my first bachelorette party, a week in NYC, Memorial Day weekend, etc. etc. – but I think I’ve managed to hold my own ok. My weight hasn’t been going down, but I’ve been holding steady, so I really can’t complain. I’m sure I could be much farther along, but I find the idea of passing on cupcakes at my own bridal shower completely absurd, so eat cupcakes I did. And yet, that’s cupcakes, plural.

With that said, throughout the month of June, I have essentially no excuses for indulging until the last weekend of the month when my big blow out bachelorette party takes place. So, from now until the wedding I am committing to working out daily – a combination of heavier and lighter days, a blend of cardio and resistance. I am going to work on keeping my diet well balanced, avoiding processed sugar/carbs as much as possible, cutting out alcohol entirely for a few weeks, and keeping fiber intake high. I am only planning to weigh once a week during this time (I usually weigh daily because it helps keep me on track best) so I can avoid getting hung up on numbers and instead focus on an intensive effort to tone and trim a few more inches before July rolls around and the temptations return in the form of July 4th weekend and a friend’s wedding on July 11th and, of course, our wedding the following weekend.
In particular, I’d love to see my back tone up in the next several weeks. {Source}
Are there any other July or August brides who want to join me for a month-long push in June? My target areas are my arms (still, always), my back, and the icing on the cake would be to see any further improvement on my waist line. And, of course, I’m always seeking general health and fitness improvements as I work on the physical aspects of looking better, too. So, here we go – I am officially 100% committed to getting fit again – who is coming with me?
